Here's to the nights
that turned into mornings

and the friends that turned to family

It was late when Madison woke up, much later than usual. It was her day off and she had not bothered with the alarm clock, which in her opinion was an evil implement. Instead she had simply allowed herself to sleep for as long as she wanted. She really should not have been as tired, and she really should not have slept as long, seeing how she was an air elemental. She was supposed to regenerate in her elemental form, rather than passing out and sleeping like any ordinary human being.

Regardless, it had happened. It was way past noon when Madison finally made it out of the shower and even later by the time she had finally gotten dressed. It seemed she had gotten thinner of late because her burgundy red shirt seemed to close more easily than it had in a long time. She was not sure if this was a reason to be pleased with herself or to be concerned for her health. She had gotten little rest lately and worked hard. Apparently it was taking its toll on her body, yet regardless she looked great. It was to be expected though, after all Italian lineage had its perks. She smoothed over the sleeves of the red shirt she was wearing underneath her tanktop, determined to remove wrinkles that only existed in her mind.

Boredom had settled over the teen, the whole dorm actually. The girl had begun to wander again, something they did often when there wasn't much to do. Usually this sort of pattern would be done on Sunday's , but for some reason the odd and slow day wanted to give her a surprise by coming early. Of course Madison had not appreciated it. In fact , it was a proven fact that not many people liked to be bored and she had yet to meet someone that did. It was the same old thing , quiet dorm and no place to go or do something unless someone decided to call her. The dorms seemed rather empty besides her of course. Her body was sprawled out on her ,the television still on from the night before. She had stayed downstairs the previous night, and hadn't bothered to wake up the girls coming in as late as he had. It wasn't that Madison was out partying, she'd been enjoying a movie with a couple of friends. It was one of those nights that she got lucky and was able to go out instead of sit around at home doing nothing.

A hand traveled through hair hair, noting that it was still wet from his shower the night before. She'd been awake for quite a while, but had been tuned into some morning/early afternoon news. Yawning, she straightened herself up, bringing herself to make her way upstairs to change. Madison was not sure rather not the weather outside was warm enough to wear it or not. It obviusly had not mattered since it was not , but a matter of time before she was fully dressed. The funny thing was though , she had no idea where she was going. Sure , there were loads of things to be done , but nothing had seemed to come to mind as she slid her feet in her shoes. There were no messages or texts from friends and no annoucments from teachers about a meeting the students had to attend. The day seemed to be going on a slow pace that she figured that it might as well be raining outside.

Her hands now in her pockets , she grabbed her cellphone and dorm room key before exiting. Hands sliding down the railing and feet skipping , she made it out to the grounds off the campus.
It was about an hour later that she found herself in the shopping are. She had taken her car, for she loved the way her hair blew. Stopping at the nearest parking spot , she topped right in front of her occasional coffee shop. Here was a place laden with memories of her school days, memories of happy days and love. It was oddly comforting that while she and things had changed the town appeared to remain the same.

Madison pushed the door the girl slipped inside. Thankfully it had not taken her long to get there, and now as she was checking her watch she found that she was being in time. Very nice, she had feared that for once she would be running late for a quick drink.

"Hm…" musing on the idea of letting everything go, the female figure pulled a slender finger to her chin and took half of a step backward, "Actually, I don't think that this is going to work." A sadistic smile toyed with the corners of her lips as she raised her eyes from the ground and onto the worker's features. "This is the third time this week. What's so hard about serving me up a black cup of coffee?" She cued an eyebrow and stressed her preferences. That's it, this kid was getting fired, nothing more to it.

She wasn't going to harass him or blow up over the mistake like usual. No, she was just going to breathe and let it all wash over. The apocalypse!? Nah. The school paper was finally done for the month, so she had an ass load of free time and an extended fuse. It still wasn't as long as the general public would have liked, but she wouldn't explode anytime within the next three weeks; thank god. "So Javie, can we try this again?" Tessa didn't wait for an answer; she simply proceeded onto reordering and then stepping back so that the person behind her would have a chance to get their order in as well.

Really, how hard was it to remember to serve up a black cup of coffee!? That was the simplest one in the book. All the guy had to do was pour a steaming hot liquid into a cup. No mixing. No stirring. No thought required. Okay, so maybe an ounce of a brain was necessary but that was about it. "Idiot," she shook her head as she spoke, side stepping toward a few guys who'd formed a circle around a laptop. Doubting that they'd truly hold her interest for long, Tessa turned her eyes elsewhere, surveying her surroundings.

To tell the truth, there wasn't too much going on. Business was slow, the best seats still open. The possible only reason for that one had to be the fact that this was no Java Jazz. Oh, and also because it was - what was it… a Wednesday? Heh, some people actually did shit on Wednesdays. They attended church, club meetings, school games and well events of that sort. As would have guessed; that wasn't truly this one's scene. Well…unless it had to do with running, in that case Tessa would have been all over it.

After another moment, she flagged down Javier and shook her head, cancelling her order entirely. Out of the door and onto the streets, she pulled her wind breaker tight onto her torso whilst roaming around Market Main in search for her regular coffee shop. Silently praying that it was open, Tessa slipped around a corner. Over the last few weeks, the café had been closed for remodeling. Most hadn’t respected or enjoyed the sudden news, however the bad always rolled in with the good, and Tessa figured that the owners of the joint must’ve had something special hidden beneath their sleeves.

Oddly enough, though slightly dark by the groggy whether, and the lights about the establishment were off the name popped out onto the brunette and within moments she'd pulled open the door and taken a step inside. Within moments she felt like she was at home. "Do you guys still know how to make coffee around here?" The inquiry was a bit sardonic in delivery but that of a serious one all of the same. Her hazel eyes lingered on the other customers for a few seconds before she slid toward the counter, wallet in hand.

The day was cold making it seem more like a Sunday than it was a Wednsday. If it was not for the occasional car going past her or customer coming in , this area would feel and look like a total ghost town. Who could possibly blame her though? Being the only customer for the past thirty minutes in a coffee shop where half the people just looked outside the window. It was kind of obvious that this job was either easy and worthwhile or could cause someone to have a serious case of boredom. Whatever the issue , Madison was just happy to say that she was not involved in the buisness. Her morning routine was just based on a shower and going straight to the coffee shop for her morning cup of joe before her day begin. But , the onyl exception she liked the feeling of a busy morning with people chattering about how they hate their boss or how they can't stand their co-workers. Sure , some people could not stand that first thing in the morning , but the dead silence was growing.

Hand placed under her chin , her deep blue eyes gazed upon the rising sun. She couldn't tell how long she was staring , but it was long enough causing her to jump at the sound of the door. Rubbing her eyes , she yawned as took a sip of her warm coffee. Her throat was not to fond of the temperature since it had only been a mere fifteen minutes and the coffee had gone down about ten degrees it felt like. Madison could not figure if it was what was inside the drink that was making like this or the possibility that their cups were plain and cheap. That question was just rhetorical at the moment though since something else seemed to break her pondering.

The door of the small coffee shop rang , she took notice of watching the young girl walk in. Her mood was not what most people would call pleasent. Than again Madison did not want to be one to judge. There were the occasional people that could be happy , but have an unpleasent looking face as if they hate the day.
